Site 1001 was awarded OCTANe’s High Tech Innovation Award for “Outstanding Emerging Technology Company” on September 27, 2018. Determined by a panel of judges, the smart building startup was selected out of the more than 80 firms from the technology-rich area of Orange County, CA. Site 1001’s CEO, Cleve Adams and CTO, Pete Fiacco accepted the award after months of interviews and demonstrations. Site 1001 was recognized in the highly competitive technology division for its high performance, AI-driven platform that maximizes building performance and operations for complex properties nationwide. OCTANe Announces 2018 High Tech Innovation Award Winners
Aliso Viejo, Calif., October 1, 2018 — OCTANe, Orange County’s technology and life sciences accelerator organization, today announced the winners of its 2018 High Tech Innovation Awards. The awards program, which entered into its twenty-fifth year, honored Orange County-based companies that have demonstrated exceptional leadership while developing new technological advancements in their respective industries.
Ten awards, selected by a panel of 12 independent judges, were awarded.

Two additional awards were distributed at the event. The UCI Samueli School of Engineering Innovator of the Year Award given to Dr. Kyriacos A. Athanasiouas from the University of California, Irvine, as well as the Leadership in the Success of Orange County Award, honoring Linda DiMario, Executive Vice President, Greater Irvine Chamber.
During the event, Bill Carpou, CEO of OCTANe, announced the launch of the organization’s first ever capital campaign – intended to create 55,000 new jobs by 2030 and develop the infrastructure required to support this ambitious goal.
“The goal of $3.3 million will provide the resources necessary to create a place for future generations to thrive,” said Carpou.
This year’s event was hosted at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach, Ca. and emceed by Jane King, founder & CEO of LilaMaxMedia LLC, a multi-platform provider of video content on consumer and business news. King currently provides daily business reports from the NASDAQ Marketsite in Times Square for 70 TV stations as well as online through the TheStreet.com.
